Slider has been the mascot of the Cleveland Indians since 1990. This fuchsia-colored fur ball, with his yellow shaggy eyebrows and nose, cavorts with and entertains Indian fans at all home games at Progressive Field. Indians fans still remember the time during the American League Championship Series in 1995 that slider got too excited while dancing on an outfield wall, fell six feet, and tore knee ligaments. But, Slider is one tough fuchsia-colored furry dude and came back strong to continue as the Indians mascot. He was very proud of his induction into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2008.

When Slider is not entertaining the Indians fans at Progressive Field he spends time visiting fans throughout the Cleveland area. Slider is always happy to appear at anniversaries, private events, family reunions, and birthdays as well as fund raisers and charitable events. If there is a place where Cleveland Indians fans gather, Slider is always happy to come.

Slider is proud of being the mascot for one of the original 8 American League teams dating back to 1901. And the furry Indians mascot is especially proud of the team’s success during the “Slider Years.” Since Slider signed his contract the Indians have won the American League Central Division title in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2007, 2016, 2017, and 2018. They clinched the AL pennant in 1995, 1997, and 2016.
